MDSICON 2027

It’s indeed with great pride and pleasure that I invite you, as the organising chairman of the 11^th MDSICON 2027 to be held in Taj Fisherman’s Cove, ECR, Chennai from the 7th to the 10th of Jan 2027.

It’s an added privilege that I am also welcoming you as the President of MDSI to the place where the whole concept of an annual meeting of the society began, in 2016 (incidentally a pleasant coincidence that the dates were the same). I am sure that you will all remember what a grand success the 1^st MDSICON in 2016 was. It was conducted under very difficult circumstances, what with the unprecedented floods that happened in Dec 2015 in Chennai. I am always very pleased when people still recall that meeting fondly.

Now, bringing it “back to where it all began” is so heartwarming for all of us in the organising committee. You can be assured that this will be another MDSICON that nobody can forget in a hurry.

The young organising team (including me, of course) consisting of Dr Vijayshankar — the organising secretary, Dr Balaji — the treasurer, and Dr Sreenivas UM — the joint secretary are working their backs off to put up a show that you will all relish, remember and recall most avidly.

Chennai has a reputation for flawless meetings that cater to everyone — the academics-oriented, the network-oriented, the fun-oriented, the business-oriented and the multi-oriented — and this meeting, I am confident, will reiterate and reinforce that reputation.

As usual, you can expect the unexpected (in a very positive way) in the meeting. So, do come in huge numbers and enjoy the academics and the festive atmosphere.

As we add a 1 and make 11 from 1 (1^st to the 11^th MDSICON), I am sure we will add 1 more feather to Chennai’s cap of academics in neurology, especially movement disorders.
